IYSL - Introduction to Youth Work (NOCN Level 2)

A 12 week course offering individuals and Youth Work practitioners a grounding of knowledge in youth work principles and practices. It will aim to develop skills, knowledge and give ideas to support a greater understanding of practice based youth work.

A requirement of progression to the Level 3 Certificate in Youth Work, is the completion of the Introduction to Youth Work course at Level 2.

Aimed at: Senior members/volunteers of Youth Projects/Organisations, Youth Workers within both statutory and voluntary sector organisations, Professionals within the Department of Children & Young People's Services

Pre-requisites:

  • Age entry requirement to the course is 18
  • A current enhanced CRB check is mandatory
  • It is an essential course requirement that you are working with young people aged 13 –21 (up to 25 for disabled young people) for a minimum of 3 hours per week
