Basic Food Hygiene - e-Learning
All food handlers must know their responsibilities under the law to prevent food poisoning and ensure food safety.
The package is accredited by the Royal Insitute of Public Health (RIPH).
Aimed at: Bradford Council Adult Services and Services to Children and Young People staff whose job involves food handling or food preparation and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is a requirement for their post - please clarify this with your Line Manager.
Upon completion learners will have an understanding of a wide range of key food safety issues including:
- Three main types of food safety hazard, their sources and methods of control.
- Correct temperatures needed for storage.
- Food handling activities from delivery through to sale.
- Awareness of common food pests and how to control them
- Principles of cleaning and disinfection and how these apply to the workplace
The web-based learning management system will monitor your progress and you will be assessed via the system. Upon completion of the training and successful completion of the assessment you will be sent a certificate.
- If you are a competent IT user with a broadband connection and an email address, you can access the course from your work or home PC.
