Death, Grief and Bereavement

Introductory course looking at the grieving process and ways of helping service users that have suffered the death of a loved one.

Available to: Bradford Council, Adult Services Social Care Employed staff - Access, Assessment and Support Team, Home Care Staff, Residential Staff.

Learning Objectives:

  • Define bereavement and grief.
  • Identify the tasks of bereavement and ways of helping people to complete these.
  • State the range of emotional reactions commonly experienced in the grieving process.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the ways that different people experience bereavement.
  • Access information on various cultural responses to death and bereavement.
