Skills in case recording

Aimed At: Adult & Community Services staff working within Adults Access, Assessment and Support Team, including Sensory Needs and Physical Disabilities Team i.e. Social Workers and Community Care Officers.

Aims:

  • To understand the purpose of case recording.
  • To be able to identify what are the key issues and events we need to record.
  • Understand the principles of good record keeping and report writing.
  • Understand why recording of equalities data is required.
  • Understand the organisation's policies and procedures.
  • To be aware of the Data Protection Act 1998 and Freedom of Information Act 2000 and how these affect what we write.
