Mental Capacity Act - e-Learning

The aim of this module is to raise your awareness of the key elements of the Mental Capacity Act. Anyone whose role entails contact with vulnerable Adults should benefit from completing the course. Note that it does not cover decisions excluded by the Act, Children and the Act, or research.

Please refer to the Mental Capacity Act Code of Practice for more information on these subjects.

Aimed at: This course is aimed at anyone who provides care and support for vulnerable Adults as part of their duties within the community, in the person's home, or in a day care or residential setting. Typically this will include formal and informal carers, volunteers and health and social care professionals.

Upon completion learners will have an understanding of a wide range of key issues relating to the Mental Capacity Act.

The web-based learning management system will monitor your progress and you will be assessed via the system. Upon completion of the training and successful completion of the assessment you will be able to print off a certificate.

If you are a competent IT user with a broadband connection and an email address, you can access the course from your work or home PC.
