Infection Prevention and Control - e-Learning

The overall aim of this module is to provide an overview of the key elements of Infection Prevention and Control and introduce you to some of the things that can be done to improve its control within the organisation and your workplace.

Available to: CBMDC staff within Adult and Community Services, & Services to Children and Young People.

On completing this module you should:

  • Understand basic microbiology
  • Understand how micro-organisms are spread
  • Understand standard infection prevention and control precautions
  • Know the importance of correct hand hygiene technique
  • Be able to describe what MRSA, Clostridium difficile, Norovirus are and understand their impact
  • Know what precautions are necessary to prevent and control Health Care Associated Infections (HCAI)
