Falls and Fracture Prevention in Older People - e-Learning
The aim of this course is to provide an overview of the key elements of falls prevention in relation to older people, and some of the things that can be done to reduce the incidence of falls and broken bones (fractures) amongst this age group.
Currently available to: CBMDC staff within Adult and Community Services, & Services to Children and Young People. Please ensure you seek the permission of your line manager before requesting access to the training.
Upon completing this module, you will:
- Be clear about your role in trying to prevent falls and fractures amongst older adults
- Understand the risk factors that contribute towards an older person's chances of falling
- Be able to assess an individual's risk of falling
- Know about broad health promotion messages that prevent falls and improve the health of older people
- Understand what to do in the event of a fall
