Drugs and Alcohol and Older People Basic Awareness

Available to: Bradford Council Adult Services, Voluntary Agency and Independent sector staff within the Bradford area.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify a range of different substances commonly used by older people and their effects
  • Identify and understand the nature of drug problems on older people: physical, psychological and social
  • Recognise attitudes within society related to substance use including common myths
  • Know when a specialist risk assessment is needed
