'The Big Swing' - Eccleshill Adventure Playground
Eccleshill Adventure Playground is the first of its kind in Bradford. A truly self build adventure playground and a flag ship project.
The site is open access for children 5 to 15 to come and go as they please and is staffed by qualified playworkers, youth workers and dedicated community members. The project's focus is enabling children and young people to achieve their full potential, with the view that through play and playwork children and young people can experience a range of opportunities and activities of their own volition from which they will gain positive affirmation benefiting them in the wider aspects of their lives.
Eccleshill Adventure Playground is a place where all children can feel, free and safe to play, to chat, to hang out and to involve themselves in the range of play opportunities on offer. Children and young people can participate to their fullest ability in developing the site and the services provided.
This project is dedicated to the play needs of children and young people and the wider needs of the local communities. A provision that in time will be owned, developed and managed by the local communities. Run for the people by the people.
At present the site is open:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday: 3.30-7.00
Saturday: 12.00-3.00
School holiday opening times are:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 12.00-3.00 and 4.00-7.00
Saturday: 12.00-3.00
Group bookings can be arranged with prior notice at other times.
