What is Support Care?
Support Care is a service run by Bradford Council offering short breaks for young people. The service is designed to support families through their difficulties and help keep children at home.
How does it work?
Support care is a series of planned short breaks where a child or young person spends some time with an approved carer. This could be day care during the week, after school, or at weekends. It can also involve overnight stays through the week or at weekends.
How do I get the service?
If you are a family you need to ask your Social Worker to make a referral to the Support Care Service.
Could you be a Support Carer?
We are looking for women and men who have some experience of caring for children/young people. You need to understand the stresses and strains of family life and have a commitment to young people.
As well as helping young people through a tough time in their life you may also offer support and advice to their families. You need to be able to work as part of a team and will receive support, training and advice to help you.
