Our commitment to you

Bradford Council takes comments, complaints and compliments from members of the public seriously and is committed to using feedback to improve services.

We welcome your feedback so please contact us if:

  • You think we can do things better
  • You are not happy with our services
  • You are happy with the way we do things

How do I make a comment/complaint/compliment?

You can contact us by one of the following methods:

  • Complete the Contact Us form which can be obtained from all Council offices and hand it in to any of the Council's reception points or return it to the FREEPOST address.
  • Send a letter directly to the department or service concerned
  • Fill in the online Contact Us form on our website:

What to do if you have a complaint

If you are not happy with any Council Service, please talk to someone in the service concerned first so that the problem can be dealt with quickly.

Stage 1

If you are not happy with the answer you receive, or if the problem reoccurs, you can make a complaint which will be dealt with by a more senior member of staff within the service.

Stage 2

If you are not happy with stage 1 response you can ask for the matter to be investigated independently from the service concerned.

If you are still dissatisfied with the service provided by the Council you can take up your complaint with your local Councillor, MP or the Local Government Ombudsman. The Ombudsman will expect you to have tried to resolve the issue with the Council first.

What will we do if you have a complaint

We will:

  • Try to sort it out as quickly as we can
  • Aim to acknowledge your complaint within 2 working days and reply within 10 working days
  • If we need more time to look into your complaint we will keep you informed.
