Update on impact of proposed industrial action

Bradford Council is aiming to ensure that the impact on the most vulnerable people is minimised and essential services are maintained during Wednesday's proposed industrial action.

Ten recognised trade unions have informed the Council that their members intend to take strike action over national public sector pension reforms.

Bradford Council Chief Executive Tony Reeves said: "We have reached agreement with the trade unions to exempt some essential front line staff from strike action to minimise the impact of the industrial action on the most vulnerable people.

"This is a national issue and we will do everything we can to maintain essential services and keep residents informed.”

Residents are advised to check the Bradford Council website for the latest updates: www.bradford.gov.uk/bmdc/advice_benefits_and_council_tax/emergencies/council_service_disruptions
