Temporary pool closure
Essential planned maintenance work is to be carried out at the swimming pool in the Leisure Centre, Keighley.
The pool, sauna and steam room will be closed from Monday, 5 December until Wednesday, 28 December while Bradford Council improves the facilities. The Centre's other amenities will remain open.
The work will include the installation of a heat recovery system that will cut the Centre's fuel bill and will help to reduce its carbon footprint.
Other work includes repainting the steel slide supports; refurbishment of pool filters; replacement of pipe work; and deep cleaning the poolside tiles and cubicles.
Coun Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council's Executive Member responsible for Sport and Leisure, said: "It is vital this work is carried out to ensure residents have the highest standard facilities possible.
"There is generally lower usage of the pool in December, which is why the Council has chosen this time to carry these improvements, but we ask customers to be patient while the work is being carried out.”
