Bradford Council services and other agencies will get together to organise a massive clean-up in the Hirst Wood area of Shipley.
Council Wardens will work with clean teams, social landlord Incommunities, volunteers, Community Payback and youngsters from the Lime Tree Litter Clubs to carry out a two-day spruce up of the area.
One of the main themes of the event is educating and offering advice on waste management, recycling, pest control, bulk waste collection and other environmental issues.
As well as local children, adult volunteers from the Hirst Wood Regeneration Group will also take part and offer advice. To collect the waste, three skips will be available in the area.
Volunteers will also be assisting residents with hedge trimming and garden improvements.
Coun Imran Hussain, Bradford Council Deputy Leader said: "This event is a triumph for partnership working and community involvement in environmental improvement.
"I am sure all the hard work will pay off with a vastly improved area and we can encourage people to be responsible for keeping their environment as clean as possible.”
Ward Councillor Coun Martin Love said: "Together we can all take pride in our surroundings and make sure they stay looking as good as possible for as long as possible.”
Dave Dickens, Director of Incommunities – Neighbourhood Services, said: "Keeping neighbourhoods attractive and tidy is important to residents and Incommunities, as a caring and responsible landlord.
"By working together with the Council and the community we can all make a difference and we would encourage everyone to do their bit.”
The clean-up will take place on Friday, 27 January and Saturday, 28 January, from 10am to 3pm.
