Health and learning on the agenda
Residents interested in children’s and young people’s education are invited to attend a public meeting in Keighley.
The Public Forum for Education will hold an open debate called "The Importance of Good Health in Aiding Learning" in The Auditorium at University Academy Keighley on Wednesday, 14 September from 4.30-6.30pm.
The main areas of discussion at this event will be emotional health and well being, healthy schools and health prevention issues.
It will be led by Julie Jenkins, Bradford Council’s Assistant Director Children’s Specialist Services.
Coun Ralph Berry, the Council’s Executive Member for children and young people, and Kath Tunstall, the Council’s Strategic Director of Children’s Services, will also be present.
Coun Ralph Berry said: “This meeting will give people an opportunity to constructively contribute to discussions on the ways in which good health can improve the abilities of children and young people to learn.”
Anyone interested in attending, particularly parents and young people, should contact Nazhat Iqbal on 01274 432337 or nazhat.iqbal@bradford.gov.uk
The Public Forum for Education holds “big conversations” throughout the year on topical issues in education. With an independent chair, Margaret Platts MBE, it enables everyone with an interest to contribute their views and the chance to work with Bradford Council in shaping education for the district.
