Half-term fun at Bradford Libraries

Libraries across the district will hold a variety of free activities this half-term to keep children entertained.

Bradford Council has organised the drop-in events to encourage youngsters to keep reading and get creative during the school break.

Valentine craft sessions, where children can make masks, mobiles and wands will be held at Clayton Library (Monday, 13 February at 2-4pm), Thornton Library (Tuesday, 14 February at 2.30-3.30pm), and Allerton Library (Thursday, 16 February at 2-4pm). Youngsters who attend the sessions will also be able to enter a Valentine colouring competition.

Older children will be able to enjoy regular story time events while pre-schoolers can engage in rhyme-time sessions, which encourage them to recognise and play with rhyming words. Both activities will be held in all of the libraries across the district and people should contact their local branch for further information.

Coun David Green, Bradford Council’s Executive Member responsible for Culture, said: "These free activities will keep children entertained over the holidays, encourage them to read a variety of books, and explore their creativity."

Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult for all activities.
