Garden waste collection
Changes to Bradford Council's garden waste collection service will be introduced early next year.
The collection of household garden waste will be suspended at the end of January 2012, when the present collection calendar runs out and will re-start in March when the growing season begins again.
Next year, in 2012 and 2013, there will be no collection over the Winter season, in December, January and February, because the amount of garden waste produced in that period reduces dramatically, making it inefficient and a waste of resources to run the service.
Householders who have garden waste to get rid of during those months can take it to one of Bradford Council's Household Waste Recycling Centres.
For information on the location of Household Waste Recycling Centres, opening times and other recycling advice, please call 01274 431000, or visit the web site (www.bradford.gov.uk/recycling).
Christmas trees can still be left at the kerbside in January 2012 by people whose homes are on the garden waste collection round. Those people should put their Christmas trees out along with any other garden waste on their scheduled collection day in January.
New leaflets will be delivered to households in February 2012, giving information about the collection calendar from March to November 2012.
