Colourful Visit Bradford 2012 Guide launched

The Bradford 2012 visitor guide has been launched to promote the district to potential visitors.

Twenty thousand guides have been printed showing what's on offer in the district and it's also available online at visitbradford.com

Last year's guide came third in the British Destination Visitor Guide competition and the 2012 one is just as good showing colourful montages of the city's attractions and the wonderful countryside that surrounds us.

Coun David Green, Bradford Council's Executive Member for Regeneration and Roger Clark-Coates, Chair of the Destination Bradford partnership and manager of Jurys Inn Bradford, will launch the guide in City Park on January 18.

Coun Green said: "It's a great publication and really does the district proud. It's jam-packed with superb photos of the area featuring everything from Bolling Hall to Bronte country and moorland walks to Melas.

"There's a page boasting about us being Curry Capital of Britain last year and not forgetting other culinary delights and local real ales that can be had in the area."

Mr Clark-Coates said: "It is a fantastic new brochure and really does show Bradford and the district to be an area to visit. Guests who stay in our hotels and B&Bs are impressed when visiting the area and many are surprised with how much there is to do.

"We now need to make the most of City Park with a number of large events throughout the year. This will improve the city centre profile no end as long as we think big and put the type of events that brings locals and visitors into this great new space."

The brochure lists events happening throughout 2012, accommodation and ten things not to miss which include Salts Mill; National Media Museum; City Park; East Riddlesden Hall; Alhambra Theatre; Bombay Stores; walking in Ilkley and Wharfedale, Bronte Country, Bingley Music Live and having a curry.

Copies are available at Visitor Information Centres in Bradford, Saltaire, Haworth and Ilkley and online.
