Careers event brings in young people from across the district

Last week over 225 young people from across the district took part in a careers event called What Next? run in partnership with Connexions Bradford and Bradford Councils bsomeone campaign.

The event was aimed at 16+ helping school leavers and NEET (Not in Education or Employment) young people find out about and get signed up to a range of employment/ training and college options in the Bradford district.

There were over 40+ providers from education, training and services related to young people who will be able to offer help, guidance and opportunities for the young people to help them move on to the next step.

Coun Ralph Berry, Executive Member for Children and Young People, said: “This event was a great chance for young people from across the district who are still unsure about education and training opportunities to come along and talk to personal advisers and providers.”

The event supported the district's b someone campaign which is focusing on encouraging service providers to support and encourage young people in helping them develop their skills and fulfil their potential.
