Bradford’s got talent
A popular talent show for young people in the Bradford district is back after a two year absence.
The event, which is being organised with support from Bradford Council’s Youth Service, will give budding Lady Gagas and fans of Diversity the opportunity to showcase their talent and be crowned Bradfactor 2011.
Auditions for 16-25 year old singers and dancers will be held across the district throughout this month and finalists will appear at a spectacular grand final at St George’s Hall on Saturday, 1 October at 6pm.
The 15 finalists will appear in front of a panel of judges including Tom Milner from Waterloo Road and Tony Adkins, the bodyguard from The X Factor. The show will be hosted by Twist and Pulse, who were runners-up on Britain’s Got Talent 2010.
Coun Ralph Berry, Bradford Council’s Executive Member for Children and Young People, said: “The Bradfactor talent contest will give young people a fantastic opportunity to showcase their singing and dancing. It will also reflect the district’s b someone campaign which encourages youngsters to succeed, improve their skills and fulfil their potential.”
The first round of auditions for singers will be held on Saturday, 10 September (10-15 year olds at 10am-12noon; 16-25 year olds at 12.30-3pm) and dancers on Sunday, 11 September (all ages at 11am-3pm). All sessions will be held at Carlisle Business Centre.
Those who make it through to the semi-finals will perform at Bradford Playhouse on Saturday, 17 September from 10am-4pm.
