Children and young people can register for two new sport camps this half-term to help them use up their energy, have fun and boost their skills.
Bradford Council is organising five-day camps in Icon dance gymnastics and B.A.S.E. (b active sport and exercise) at Nab Wood Sports Centre between Monday, 13 and Friday, 17 February.
B.A.S.E. Camp will offer a wide range of activities including football, cricket, rugby, basketball, trampolining and racket sports. All sessions will be staffed by qualified coaches and will be open to boys and girls aged between 5 and 14-years-old.
The five-day camp will run from 9am-4pm each day, but parents and carers can drop off their children from 8.30am. It will cost £45 per person (or £10 per day).
The Icon dance camp will give children the opportunity to learn a wide range of different styles - including street, break dance, and musical theatre – to all the latest chart hits from artists such as Lady Gaga and Dizzy Rascal.
On the last day of the high energy course youngsters who have attended the camp will be given the chance to showcase to their parents or carers all the new dance moves they have learnt.
The camp, which is aimed at children and young people aged from five to 13-years-old, will run from 10am-3pm each day. It will cost £45 per person.
Coun Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council's Executive Member responsible for Sport and Leisure, said: "These fun sport camps will keep children and young people entertained and motivated throughout the half-term holiday. Places are expected to fill up fast and so we would urge people to sign up in advance.”
