Calendar of Events

In 2010 our Fundraising Calendar has something for everyone, casual dining, formal dinners, Brass Bands, Ceilidh, dances, Spring Fayre, Ladies lunches, bowling and, for the brave among you, an abseil descent of Bradford Central Library and even a Zip Wire!

Throughout the year we hold dozens of Raffles, Auctions and Tombolas so if you have any prizes or unwanted Christmas Presents you could donate to us we would be very grateful and can promise to put them to very good use. Please just get in touch or just drop your donations in to City Hall.

How Can You Help?

You can support or get involved with the Lord Mayor’s Appeal in lots of ways.

  • Organise an event to fundraise for the Lord Mayor’s Appeal. We can help you if you need us
  • Become a volunteer. Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are of all ages. They give up as much or as little time as they want
  • Perhaps you have a particular skill or service you could provide, EBay seller on our behalf, design, print, computer skills. Perhaps you have an hour a week you could spend to help in our Office with mailings, newsletters and keeping our database up to date, or you have a hobby which involves making things for our Christmas or Spring Fayres. The possibilities are endless, if you would like to help then please get in touch with us and have a chat
  • We are setting up a young fundraising group and so would particularly like to hear from young people aged 16-25 in our local community who would like to get involved and help us raise funds for local charities. This is ideal for those thinking about a career in fundraising, events management or for those doing Duke of Edinburgh or Citizenship. We will be keeping the group informal, with the emphasise on having fun and organising events and projects aimed at children and young people
  • Involve your friends, local community or colleagues. Hold a Dress Down Day, a Cake Sale, give up chocolate for a month, again the ideas are endless and it doesn’t need to cost you anything all you need is a little imagination
  • Make a donation. No amount is too small. Please make cheques payable to ‘The Lord mayor’s Appeal’ and send to The Lord mayor’s Appeal Office, City Hall, Bradford, BD1 1HY
  • Sell our Grand Draw Tickets – we have been given a brand new Nissan Pixo car by the Co-operative and are looking for people to take a few books to sell in local, pubs, clubs, offices, workplaces, schools etc etc.
