Kelly Dixon - Workchoice

Kelly’s positive behaviour and attitude, coupled with hard work and commitment helped her to achieve her goal of employment.

Kelly was referred to the Workchoice programme by her local Jobcentre. She was determined to obtain employment and was open to ideas and suggestions about the kind of work she could do. Skills for Work had recently established links with Sainsbury’s and Kelly expressed an interest in working for the supermarket chain.

Following an interview with the HR manager Kelly began a 10 week placement in the café. During her time on placement Kelly impressed staff with her commitment, hard work and willingness to do anything that was required of her. The HR manager was so impressed with Kelly that they offered her a permanent position.

At present Skills for Work are supporting Kelly to learn how to operate a till so she can progress with her career and will continue with this support until Kelly feels confident to work independently.
