Haley Jones – Foundation Learning Programme
After successfully leaving the care system Haley completed her Foundation Learning programme and achieved her personal goal of emigrating to New Zealand and finding work.
Haley has faced many challenges in her life, and since leaving care she worked relentlessly with Gary Moorby, her Community Resource Worker to improve herself and her prospects in life. When Haley joined Skills for Work she explained she had set herself the goal of gaining additional qualifications and emigrating to New Zealand in the summer of 2011.
Skills for Work provided Haley with the opportunity to improve and gain some key qualifications that she would find valuable in a new country. Haley worked hard and with the support of staff gained a number of qualifications including Functional Maths and ICT and Customer Service Level 1.
After completing her programme Haley contacted us in May 2011 through Gary to let us know that she had arrived safely in New Zealand and had successfully gained a job as a retail assistant in Ash Burton, Christchurch.
