Economic Intelligence

Economic regeneration, through increasing employment, encouraging business growth and investment, as well as tackling economic disadvantage generally is an important activity for this Council and its partners.

Accurate and up to date analysis and data is a prerequisite to effective economic development within the District as it informs policy development and is essential for identifying priorities. Robust data at the local level is also essential in the bidding process for a variety of national and European funding programmes. These programmes also require such data at the local level for effective monitoring.
Through our activities we aim to:

  • promote the sharing of information and expertise
  • improve the understanding of the economy and identify issues facing the district’s local population, workforce and business community

The Economic information Service web pages provide online access to a range of economic data and analysis. The website includes statistics on the following topics, as well as links to other sources of economic intelligence about Bradford:

  • Population
  • Employment and Labour Market
  • Unemployment
  • Business and Enterprise
  • Earnings and Income
  • Deprivation
  • House Prices
  • Travel to Work
