Bradford Economy
Bradford’s economy is worth £7.6 billion, the second largest economy within the Leeds City Region.
The local economy is still bearing the impact of the global recession and recovery will be made more difficult by the affects of government spending cuts and public sector job losses.
Despite the challenging climate, regeneration of the city centre remains a priority and made significant progress in the last year. Construction of City Park has finished, Westfield have had a revised planning application approved for its shopping centre on Broadway and the city is in the process of securing £17.6 million from the Regional Growth Fund to promote business growth in the city centre.
