Musical show to mark new woodland theatre

Young people will be performing at a special event in Bradford to celebrate a the district's first woodland theatre.

The new 'Amphi-Theatre' in Judy Woods in Wyke will be hosting an evening of live performances on Friday, 10 July, 6.30pm to 8.30pm.

Set up by Bradford Council's Integrated Youth Support service, the aim is to create further outdoor arts space in other woods in the district in the future.

Coun Michael Kelly, the Council's Executive Member for Services to Children and Young People, said: "This is a brilliant opportunity for young people and our partner organisations to use the Amphi Theatre for a number of projects and I look forward to seeing more of these being set up."

Mick Chandsoor, Arts and Environment Worker with the Council's Integrated Youth Support Service, said: "This is a pilot scheme which will give young people the chance to use outdoor space for a wide variety of activities, such as small gigs, story reading or even for screening films - the opportunities are endless!

"We hope people will come along to the celebration to see what is on offer and get involved in future events."
