What are these Other Accounts?
Other Accounts are sometimes known as Miscellaneous Invoices or Sundry Debts. They are issued by the Debt Recovery team. If you have received an invoice, it may be that it is for a service the Council has provided, and is required to make a charge for. It also could be for repayment to the Council of an amount you were not entitled to. These Invoices are in addition to the bills you may receive for Council Tax and / or Business Rates.
Some examples of those services where the Council is required to make a charge and issue an invoice are Trade Waste services, Planning Fees, Social Services accommodation charges.
Examples of other invoices issued include collection of Commercial Rents, Overpayment of Housing Benefit, Former Tenants Arrears, Collection of amounts for the non-return of Library items.
These bills are payable on receipt. If you feel the Invoice you have received is incorrect you can contact us to discuss or dispute it.
