How to get Copy Certificates

Copy certificates can be applied for in three different ways:

  1. You can call in at the Bradford and Keighley Register Office in Manor Row Bradford or at Keighley Town Hall you will be asked to complete an application form and pay the fee required, or alternatively why not save some time whilst you are at the Register office by printing off the appropriate application form below and complete and take this with you. We will then advise you how long it will take to prepare the certificate for you. Family history certificates do not take priority and the wait for these will generally be longer. At the Register Office in Bradford we aim to issue personal certificates after about two hours but this may be longer if demand is high. If we have staff available we will endeavour to issue a certificate within 30 minutes at a premium rate. At Keighley Town Hall if a certificate is ordered in the morning generally it will be possible to collect it that afternoon and if ordered in the afternoon it should be available for collection the following morning, alternatively the certificate can be posted out to you.
  2. You can contact us by post by either printing off the appropriate application form below and completing and then posting this back to us, or write to the Bradford and Keighley Register Office giving as much detail as you can about the certificate you require and enclose a stamped-addressed envelope and a cheque or postal order for the fee (made payable to Bradford Council) and the certificate will be posted back to you.
  3. You can call the register office on 01274 432151 and give the information to a member of our staff who will complete the form on your behalf, you can pay for the certificate using a debit or credit card, the certificate will then be posted to you by first class post, this service is subject to a handling fee (see below)

The current charge for copy certificates, premium rate and handling fee charges can be found on our Certificate and Ceremony Fees page (see below)
