Children and Young People's Plan
The Children and Young People's Plan describes the agreed Vision and aims of the Council and its partners and how they will work together through Children's Trust arrangements.
Bradford Children's Trust has oversight of delivery of goals related to children and young people and ensures that outcomes for children are actively promoted and supported by each of the other Partnerships.
The Children Act 2004 and the 2009 ASCL Bill requires that each Children's Trust and local authority has a Children and Young People's Plan which is a single overarching plan for all partners to work together on improving outcomes for children and young people.
The Plan is developed in consultation with a wide range of children, young people, families, individuals and organisations in both the statutory and voluntary sector and is reviewed annually.
The Plan aims to ensure that every child and young person in the district is supported towards achieving the five high level Outcomes identified in the Every Child Matters Strategy:
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve
- Make a positive contribution
- Achieve economic wellbeing
The Plan also aims to support the health priorities of the National Service Framework, Standards 1-5 and 8-9 of which are particularly relevant:
- Standard 1: Promoting health & wellbeing, identifying needs, intervening early
- Standard 2: Supporting parenting
- Standard 3: Child, young person and family centred services
- Standard 4: Growing up into adulthood
- Standard 5: Safeguarding and promoting welfare
- Standard 8: Disabilities and complex health needs
- Standard 9: Mental health and psychological well-being
