What is the Children's Trust?
Bradford Children's Trust is a local partnership of organisations responsible for the strategic framework and delivery of services to children, young people and families.
What is the Role of the Trust?
Our vision is that every child and young person should be supported to have the best possible start in life, and be given active help and encouragement towards achieving the outcomes identified in the following themes:
By working with children, young people and families, the Trust sets strategic direction, establishes priorities, monitors progress and identifies resources to develop services.
Children and Young People's Plan
The Children and Young People's Plan sets out how our services will work on behalf of the growing young population of the district to improve their future life chances.
We aim to support children at the earliest opportunity and at the earliest age when they are most vulnerable. We have put in place a preventative framework which will enable services to intervene early at the point where things first start to go wrong in their lives. This is part of the Big Idea, to which partners have signed up: "local joined-up services focused on prevention".
Stronger Partnerships Deliver Stronger Services
As a Children’s Trust, we recognise that stronger partnerships, greater integration of services and a shared purpose lead to better services for children, young people and families – especially the most vulnerable. The core principle of a shared commitment to improve the lives of children, young people and families – enshrined in the ‘duty to co-operate’– remains as important as it ever was. The Trust's Statement of Intent underpins our commitment as an ongoing partnership.
