My priorities for the past year (May 2009 - May 2010) were:

 

To effectively and responsibly represent my ward constituents. To carry out my responsibility as Executive member for Children's Services to the best of my ability and to contribute effectively to decision making in the Keighley Area Committee

To put children and young people at the centre of all I do. Recognise and discharge my responsibilities in my Ward Councillor role as Corporate Parent to the Looked After Children of the District

 

What I have achieved in the past year (May 2009 - May 2010):

 

The provision of strong and clear political leadership within Children's Services during my service as Portfolio Holder

Full participation on Keighley Area Committee delivering improved services for the citizens of Keighley and Ilkley

Supported various Craven Ward initiatives including the refurbishment of Addingham children's playground through the Ward Investment Fund and the refurbishment of Eastburn playing fields also through the WIF

 

My priorities for the coming year (May 2010 - May 2011) will be:

 

To continue where possible and appropriate, to discharge my Corporate Parent responsibility and to make a positive difference for the Children and Young People of the District and in particular Looked After Children. In particular to carry out my Foster Panel duties to the best of my ability so as to ensure the most favourable outcomes for children in care

To bear down on the issue of dog fouling in the Craven Ward

To diligently serve my own ward constituents and the wider population of Keighley and Ilkley through my appointment on to the Keighley Area Committee

 

I have attended the following training sessions, seminars, briefings and conferences to develop skills and gain knowledge that will help me serve the people of the district.
