Bradford Classic 2008 Photos

The Bradford Classic is now in it's fourth year and we are hoping that it will be every bit as enjoyable and successful as the first three.

This year Bradford Classic will be held over the weekend of the 18th and 19th July and billed as ‘One weekend, two great car events’. On the Saturday we will have around 80 traditional classic cars on display. Sunday will see a large display of classic competition and performance cars. We will also have live demonstrations guaranteed to excite the crowds.

Penny Mallory is the celebrity guest this year. She is recognised for presenting long running television series 'Driven' and the Used Car Show. As well as being one of Britains top rally drivers and National Ladies Champion Rally Driver in 1993, Penny drove for both Papa and Nicole in the iconic Renault Clio adverts.

Aston Martin Racing driver Darren Turner , class winner at LeMans in 2008 and a competitor at this year’s Le Mans competition, will also be appearing.

Thanks to our friends at Jaguar Heritage we will be displaying the priceless Jaguar XJR-9LM racing car which was winner of the 1988 Le Mans 24-hour race. This year's Le Mans Aston Martin will also feature alongside the 2008 class winning Aston Martin DBR9 GT1.

The theme of the event this year ties in with our bid for Bradford to be designated the world's first UNESCO City of Film. In recognition of this a Wheels on Reel film run will held over the Classic weekend with rare big screen showings of Italian Job, with Q & A sessions with guests who were involved in the film, and a showing of Grand Prix will be held in partnership with the National Media Museum.

The event also includes a special Aston Martin Le Mans celebration evening, hosted by Speedmaster Conference centre, on Saturday, July 18. Tickets cost £25, including champagne and canapés, and are available by calling 01274 623200.

An auction of rare die cast model Jaguars and other automobilia will be held at the Great Victoria Hotel on Saturday 18th July. Food and drink will be available at the hotel.

In addition, for those members of the family that don’t have petrol running through their blood, we have arranged a large continental market in the nearby pedestrianised retail area of the city centre. So there’s something for everyone. Why not make a weekend of it?
