Unitary Development Plan
What is the UDP for the Bradford District ?
The Unitary Development Plan (UDP) is the statutory Development Plan that the Council produces to fulfil its obligations under the 1990 Planning Act.
The Plan is a land use strategy for the District and is the prime consideration when the Council makes decisions on planning applications. It includes policies to guide development, and proposals for the use of land, to ensure that the needs of the district's population for homes, jobs, shopping, recreation etc. can be met.
The Replacement Unitary Development Plan for the Bradford District was adopted by the Council on the 18th of October 2005
Footnote: A legal challenge has been made by ASDA Stores Ltd. under section 287 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 (As Amended) to parts of the Replacement UDP with respect to land at Peter Black's, Bradford Road, Keighley.
