Annual Monitoring Report

A key element of the new development plan system is monitoring and review. Authorities are required to produce an Annual Monitoring Report (AMR) to review actual progress in terms of Local Development Document (LDD) preparation and compare this with the targets and milestones in the Local Development Scheme (LDS). The Annual Monitoring Report is also required to assess the implementation of policies, through a set of key indicators set nationally supplemented by additional local indicators. The AMR is required to be submitted to the First Secretary of State by the end of December.
The third AMR was submitted to the First Secretary of State in December 2007. It sets out progress on the LDDs against the LDS up to December 2007; performance with regards to the policy indicators for the period 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2007; and the performance of the Local Planning Authority with regards to the determination of planning applications for the period 1 April 2006 to 31 March 2007.
