European Fairtrade Towns and Cities Conference January 2008

Together with a person from Bristol, the Chair of Fairtrade Bradford, John D Anderson, represented British FT Cities. The 150 varied participants made it valuable. Britain began the idea of Fairtrade Towns. At the conference Britain gave the best presentations.
John Anderson distributed widely the Fairtrade Bradford Directory of 2007; the cancelling of the 2007 Mela had left a rather large reserve stock! It was welcomed; such a guide seemed to be unknown in Europe. The amount of British FT sales and purchases is far in advance of France and Germany or any other European country. The USA had one town represented there; little is happening in the USA yet.
